I kind of wonder about the fate of Shounen Sunday once Magi ends. The magazine’s sales have been going down since 2000. Check this shit out (source is Wikipedia):

Circulation[edit]
2000 – 2.02 million
2002 – 1.53 million
2003 – 1.31 million
2004 – 1.16 million
2005 – 1.06 million
2006 – 1.01 million
2007 – 0.94 million
2008 – 873,438 [7]
2009 – 773,062 [8]
2010 – 678,917 [9]
2011 – 583,750 [10]
2013 – 532,667 [11]
2014 – 461,250 [1]
2015 – 393,417 [1]

Right now individual Magi volumes are outselling the magazine.

I know that Shounen Sunday recently changed editors and that he plans to do something about this, but I wonder if it will work. Would be sad to see the magazine go, it published many of the big Takahashi series (Inuyasha, Ranma ½, Urusei Yatsura) and really nice shounen manga like Kekkaishi.

Anyway, the crappy sales are probably one of the reasons why the last arc of Magi is so slow so far – the editorial department is probably in no hurry to see their best selling series end, since that will likely put even more of a dent in their sales.
